If you’re experiencing any issues with buffering on FreeCast, just select the device you’re using below and then follow the troubleshooting steps provided
Android Device
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search “FreeCast” in the app store.
Choose the “Update” option if it’s available.
Try to launch the FreeCast app again after completing the app update.
Open the Settings menu and select “System” > “System Update” or “Software Update”, depending on on your Android device.
Complete the update if one is available and then try launching the FreeCast app again.
We recommend having a minimum download speed of 5 Mbps in order to use FreeCast.
To run a speed test, just follow the link below.
https://www.speedtest.net/If you’re using cell phone data for your connection, please try connecting to a wireless network and then try launching the FreeCast app again.
Open your Settings menu on your device and visit your Apps section.
Locate and select the FreeCast app in the list of apps.
Select “Storage” > “Clear Data”.
Click “Ok” to confirm.
After clearing the cache and data, restart your device and then try launching the FreeCast app again
iOS Device
Open the App Store on your iOS device and search “FreeCast”.
Choose the “Update” option if it’s available.
Try to launch the FreeCast app again after completing the app update.
Open the Settings menu on your device and select “General” > “Software Update”.
Once the update is complete, try launching the FreeCast app again.
We recommend having a minimum download speed of 5 Mbps in order to use FreeCast.

Sign out of the FreeCast app on your iOS device (if you’re able to).
Restart your iOS device and then try launching the FreeCast app again.
Delete the FreeCast app from your iOS device and then reinstall it from the App Store.
Try launching the FreeCast app again.
Android TV
Go to the Apps section on your Android TV and then open the Google Play Store.
Select the Profile icon in the top right corner > Choose “Manage apps & games”.
Select “Updates” and then “Check for Updates”.
Complete an update for the FreeCast app if the option appears.
Launch the FreeCast app again once the update is complete.
Go to the Settings menu on your Android TV
Select “System” > “About” > “System Update” and then “Check for update”
(or Settings > Device Preferences > About > System Update)Launch the FreeCast app again once the update is complete.
Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is stable by checking the connection under your TV’s Settings menu (service requires a minimum download speed of at least 5Mbps).
Run an internet speed test - Note that you can do this from a computer or phone that’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV, rather than having to install an app.
Click the Home button on your Android TV remote to get to the home screen.
In the top right corner of the screen, select “Settings” > “Apps”.
Scroll down and select the FreeCast app from the list that appears (you may need to select “See all apps” to view the full list).
Choose the FreeCast app and then select “Clear Cache” > Press “Ok” to confirm.
Click back on your remote and select “Clear “Data” from the list > Press “Ok”.
Launch the FreeCast app again and sign in to your account.
In the top right corner of your Android TV home screen, select “Settings” > “Apps”.
Choose the FreeCast app and select “Uninstall”.
Visit the “Apps” section and search “FreeCast” to locate the FreeCast app.
Select the FreeCast app and then “Install”.
Launch the FreeCast app and try signing in again.
Apple TV
Open the App Store on your Apple TV and search “FreeCast”.
Complete the update for the FreeCast app if one is available.
Launch the FreeCast app again after completing the update.
Open the Settings menu on your Apple TV
Select “System” > “Software Updates” and then “Update Software”.
Launch the FreeCast app again after completing the update.
Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is stable by checking the connection under your TV’s Settings menu (service requires a minimum download speed of at least 5Mbps).
Run an internet speed test - Note that you can do this from a computer or phone that’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV, rather than having to install an app.
Log out of your FreeCast account if you’re able to.
On your Apple TV, go to “Settings” > “System” and then select “Restart”.
Launch the FreeCast app again after restarting your Apple TV.
On your Apple TV, go to “Settings” > “General”.
Scroll down and select “Manage Storage” under the “Usage” category.
After locating the FreeCast app in the list of apps in your storage, click the trash can icon to delete it > Then choose the “Offload” option, so that it doesn’t force you to log back in after reinstalling.
Open the App Store on your Apple TV and search for the FreeCast app.
Select the FreeCast app and choose “Install”.
Launch the FreeCast app again after reinstalling.
Fire TV
Highlight the FreeCast app on the Fire TV home screen.
Press the Menu button on your Fire TV remote (button with three lines in it).
Select “More Info” from the menu that appears on the right side of the screen.
Complete the update for the FreeCast app if one is available.
Launch the FreeCast app again after completing the update.
Go to the Settings menu on your Fire TV.
Select “My Fire TV” > “About” and then “Check for for System Update”.
Launch the FreeCast app again after completing the update.

Click the Home button on your Fire TV remote to get to the home screen.
In the top right corner of the screen, select “Settings”.
From the Settings menu, select “Applications”.
Scroll down and select “Manage Installed Apps” > Then scroll down and select FreeCast from the list.
Scroll down the FreeCast app settings section and select “Force Stop”.
Then choose “Clear Cache”.
Then choose “Clear Data”.
Launch the FreeCast app and try logging in again.
Highlight the FreeCast app on the Fire TV home screen.
Press the Menu button on your Fire TV remote (button with three lines in it).
Select “Offload” from the menu that appears on the right side of the screen.
Click “Offload” again to confirm.
Reinstall the FreeCast app from the Amazon App Store and try launching it again.
Samsung TV
Press the Home button on your Samsung TV and then select “Apps” from the Settings bar.
Click the Settings button in the top right corner of the Apps screen.
Locate and highlight the FreeCast app > Then select “View Details” from the dropdown menu that appears under the app.
Complete the FreeCast app update if one is available.
Launch the FreeCast app again after completing the update.
Press the Settings button on your Samsung TV remote to bring up the Settings menu.
Select the “Support” section and then choose “Software Update”.
If an update is available, select “Update Now” (You can also enable auto updates here, if they’re not already enabled).
Once the update is complete, restart your Samsung TV and then try launching the FreeCast app again.

Press the Settings button on your Samsung TV remote to bring up the Settings menu.
Select “Support” > “Device Care” > “Manage Storage”.
Locate the FreeCast app and select it from the menu.
Select “View Details” > “Clear Cache”. Then select “Clear Data”.
Launch the FreeCast app and try logging in again.
Press the Home button on your Samsung TV and then select “Apps” from the Settings bar.
Click the Settings button in the top right corner of the Apps screen.
Locate and highlight the FreeCast app > Select “Delete”.
Go back to the Apps section and search the FreeCast app.
Reinstall the FreeCast app and try launching it again.
LG TV
Press the Home button on your LG TV remote and then select “Apps” from the menu bar.
Select the Profile icon in the top right corner (icon is the silhouette of a person).
Select “Manage Apps” from the My Apps menu.
Scroll down and locate the FreeCast app from the list of apps that appears.
If an “Update” button displays next to the FreeCast app, press it to complete the update.
Once the update is complete, try launching the FreeCast app again.
Press the Settings button on your LG TV remote to get to the Settings menu.
Select “All Settings” from the menu that appears > Then choose “Support”.
Select “Software Update” from the Support menu > Then “Check for Updates” (You can also enable auto updates here, if they’re not already enabled).
Once the update is complete, restart your LG TV and try launching the FreeCast app again.
Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is stable by checking the connection under your TV’s Settings menu (service requires a minimum download speed of at least 5Mbps).

Log out from the FreeCast app if you’re able to.
Unplug your LG TV > Then wait 20-30 seconds and plug it back in.
Once the TV restarts, try launching the FreeCast app again.
Press the Home button on your LG TV remote and then hover over/highlight the FreeCast app in your list of installed apps.
Hold down the Select/D-pad button on the FreeCast app until an Edit App List menu appears.
Select the trash can icon/delete button just above the FreeCast app to delete it.
Press the Home button on your LG TV remote to return to the home screen > Then choose “Apps”.
Search for the FreeCast app using the search bar located at the top of the Apps screen.
Install the FreeCast app and try launching it again.
